I've never really
thought much of fragrance collections that popular high street
clothing stores decide to launch, but when a colleague of mine had
suggested to check out the perfumes at Zara after she had purchased
one, I did exactly that. I came across 'Oriental', a subtle and
delicate fragrance with the top notes of rose and freesia, middle
notes, cedar and sandalwood, and the base notes vanilla and caramel.
Both myself and my colleague were discussing how expensive fragrances
are, and she had insisted that she had purchased one from Zara to
specifically use for work, which I had thought was such a clever
idea. Instead of reaching for my very expensive Viktor & Rolf on
a day to day basis, I now have a gorgeous affordable product that I
can use religiously and not feel bad for using.
'Oriental' is
absolutely perfect for the Fall/Winter months, and definitely a 'me'
type of scent. I adore warm and cosy aromas which make me feel as if
everyday is a lazy Sunday. This perfume does exactly that, and
reminds me very much of Eau Duelle by Diptyque; a scent I've wanted
for numerous years but don't want to spend the money on. I honestly
can't make out the rose in this or the freesia. I would best describe
this as a dusty vanilla, not sickly sweet but sweet enough, it's
comforting, sophisticated and great for everyday use.
I believe I paid around
£12 for this 200ml bottle which is crazy and such a good bargain.
This is obviously not a high end scent, so don't expect much from its
lasting power. As a whole I'm very sensitive to smells, and can still
catch hints of 'Oriental' lingering on my clothes and skin after a
long day. It's not as fresh as when first applied but it still does
the job. Not to mention, the bottle is extremely minimal and chic,
and looks wonderful amongst my dressing table. I'm very pleased with
this product and would definitely recommend taking a look at the Zara
perfumes if you don't want to spend a lot of money, and are searching
for a reasonable scent. Cashmere Rose is next on my list.
