L'Oréal
had kindly sent me the Vichy Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation
quite some time ago, and I had never gotten around to reviewing it
because it hadn't been a product that I had reached for until now.
Foundation is not something I ever wear, full stop. In general I
prefer a good tinted moisturiser, BB or CC cream, because I find the
formulas a lot lighter and the coverage natural. I also find that I
only ever want to apply foundation when I feel as if I'm having an
awful skin day. The Vichy Dermablend Foundation comes in 11 shades
and is a high coverage, long-hold foundation suitable for minor to
moderate skin concerns including acne and blemishes, dark circles,
rosacea, tattoos and scars. It claims to have 24-hour hydration,
lasts up to 16 hours, has SPF 35 and is paraben free and
hypoallergenic.
I definitely find this
foundation high coverage, but it's formula is breathable and not
cakey or heavy on the skin. It's buildable, easy to distribute and
blend. Occasionally, I can find that this can give me too much
coverage, even when I use a teeny tiny bit. This is most likely
because I'm more suited toward lighter formulas. I don't suffer with
major skin concerns, other than a few blemishes and redness, which is
why I can find the coverage a bit too strong for me. However, I would
certainly recommend this if you do suffer with certain skin
conditions and want an easy foundation to use, that will treat areas
of concern.
I'm not entirely sure
what the 24-hour hydration is, because this girl does not wear her
foundation for 24 hours, but I have noticed that it's not a
foundation that is overly drying or sticky. Perhaps, I'm not
applying Vichy properly, but the lasting power can really vary. I
remember wearing this once on a night out, a very long time ago and
it had lasted from night till morning, effortlessly. Other times, it
doesn't seem to stay on for a full day. I personally don't mind this,
but this is something to consider before purchasing ( although all
skin types are different, and this may not happen to you ).
I'm in the shade 25
Nude, and you get 30ml for £20. You can purchase the Vichy
Dermablend Fluid Corrective Foundation from most places such as
Superdrug and Boots. Overall, I do really enjoy wearing this from
time to time, despite its lasting power. It's definitely a foundation
suited for more troublesome skin types and therefore, I wouldn't
recommend if you want a softer, more natural or lighter coverage.
Thanks
again L'Oréal for getting
in touch with me!
