Foundations are the
last make-up product on mind. Why? Icky clogged pores and oily
breakouts, are looks I want to steer clear of, and after being
constantly recommended to try a BB cream by friends, I thought why
not. I went on a search to find which BB creams were best suited for
sensitive skin, and had come across the La Roche-Posay Hydreane BB
cream, and I couldn't be happier!
A Blemish Base cream (
aka BB cream ), is a multi-functional product which essentially works
as a tinted moisturiser, giving you a natural coverage which can
conceal, hydrate and even protect with an SPF. If you're a beginner
with make-up or want to say farewell to your foundation, I would
highly recommend switching up your routine and opting for a lighter
formula.
La Roche-Posay is a
French brand specialising in sensitive skin, and is highly suggested
by dermatologists around the globe. I had heard of the brand before
and had thought that their products were extremely overpriced and way
out of my budget, but I was entirely wrong.
The Hydreane BB cream
is available in only two shades; light and medium. I couldn't find
the product anywhere, and I seriously mean anywhere. My last
solution was to order online which I had been dreading, primarily
because I wouldn't be able to test the product on my skin, and if I
selected the incorrect shade I would be disappointed. For a long time
I carefully observed swatches online, and finally decided on the
medium shade. I ordered from feelunique.com ( which made me feel like
a true blogger! ), as it was slightly cheaper than on the Boots'
website.
After a day of some
retail therapy I arrived home to find a package waiting for me and
couldn't wait to test the product on my skin, which I did the next
morning. I first applied a swatch on my hand, and without blending, I
instantly thought that the cream would be too dark. Although being
fragrance free it had a very strong unpleasant scent which also left
me a bit bemused. Shortly, after the application and with a bit of
blending it was the perfect colour!
It doesn't have a
significantly high coverage, but that's an aspect I adore from a BB
cream. You're still able to wear make-up without covering all of your
imperfections. It does the job of helping your skin appear smoother,
glowing throughout the day, and looking and feeling incredibly soft.
I've also noticed an improvement in clearer skin, and no irritation.
There is also an added SPF 20 which is a wonderful bonus. For very
natural looking skin and make-up, I would highly recommend this item.
Literally no complaints from me, and it's a product I can apply
everyday without no worries or mess!
Have you tried any La
Roche-Posay products and what are your thoughts?
